Course Objectives and Goals:

This course is intended for dentists who already place dental implants and want to take on more advanced cases. This course consists of in depth step by step lecture followed by hands-on exercises designed to expand the doctors knowledge of GBR concepts and procedures. Emphasis
will be on recognizing the clinical indications and understanding the biological principals for GBR exploring the latest techniques and materials available. Specific topics include the rationale and techniques for onlay grafting versus ridge splitting-expansion techniques.

Presentation Topic:

By the end of this course, doctors will be able to:

• Compare and contrast the various bone grafting classifications and materials available
• Apply concepts of the rules for biologic wound healing when grafting to increase predictability
• Be able to explain and implement when, where, and how to use each of the various bone products available
• Analyze the creation of bone cocktails and their use in speci c surgical situations
• Concepts are further explained in step by step case presentations and surgical videos
• Improve techniques in the esthetic zone by understanding the use of dermal filling via alloplastic and xenograft materials; also known as the dual zone technique
• Understand the uses of bone graft materials for predictable socket preservation for future implant placement
• Diagnose peri-implant defects and bony wall classifications in order to treatment plan surgical cases and choose appropriate surgical protocols
• Perform advanced only grafting utilizing 3D formed titanium mesh membranes
• Augment severely atrophic ridges with immediate implant therapy utilizing a unique ridge split-expansion surgical kit
